My culture

Nepal is a rich country of culture. Music, dance, art, folklore, language, food, festivals etc of different ethnic group and religion represents culture of Nepal. Many of Nepal’s monuments are enlisted in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Swayambhunath Stupa is the symbol of peace and harmony. One of the holiest hindu temple of Nepal, Pashupatinath is the combination of religion, art and culture. Worshipping Kumari, the living goddess, is one of the most unique culture and tradition of Nepal. So is the lakhey dance, which is considered as the dance of the demon, who is worshipped as God. Jatras, chariots, dances, are all part of Nepali cultural heritage. Although having different faiths, cultures and ethnicities, Nepalese have been living harmoniously since ancient times. Unity in diversity is the defining characteristics of Nepali society.
