The White diamond was originally a merchant ship called Titan but its crew later turned to piracy under the command of a pirate captain named red beard, who was killed during a battle with Spanish navy. Years later, the Titan became registered to the East India Trading Co. At the time, Tom Bird was in the employ of the East India Trading Co. and regained captaincy of the Titan. Many called him a hero but he would always say I did what I did for the glory of England. Tom Bird captained the Titan for about a year, hauling various cargoes, but he refused to take slaves. He had a moral code that he would never break. Hoping to recruit tom bird as one of his many operatives. Captain Rogers had dispatched tom Bird on a mission to find the lost island of Atlantis and the treasure at the heart but tom double-crossed claimed he couldn’t locate the island. Suspicious that tom had indeed found the island and the treasure, but had not given him its accurate location, Rogers, determined to intimidate the captain into obedience, he demanded that the young captain transport a cargo of slaves to the New World. Initially tom agreed, but when he realized that he was betraying his own moral code, as well as himself, he rebelled and freed the slaves by taking them to Atlantis for safe asylum. Furious that tom had disrobed his orders not once but twice, Rogers threw him into jail. After keeping him in jail for a couple of months, he was marking Bird with the “P” brand (so he’d be forever identifiable as a pirate), captain gave the order to fire charges at the White diamond, in order to totally demoralize her captain. Then he burned the ship down and it started to sink. The white diamond-turned burned, then sank, taking Tom with her who had jumped into the ship. Legends say that the ship still takes that route and burns every ship that uses that path.
