ABOUT US
CONNECT is a magazine for children between the ages of 8 and 15 years, but not only! With the magazine we hope to stimulate young minds to appreciate the diversity in multicultural, multi-religious societies and encourage them to learn from differences rather than looking at these as barriers.
The central theme of the magazine is ‘diversity’. By connecting children living in different states of India and those in different countries across the world, we hope to contribute to a better understanding of the richness of diversity and the opportunities this provides.
OUR VISION
We believe that understanding and respect grows with honest dialogue and respectful communication. We want to celebrate diversity instead of fearing it. We are all human but on the surface we appear different by virtue of having different skin colours, cultures, languages, food habits, tastes, music, art, etc. This ‘diversity in reality’ makes us stronger, makes us richer and better prepared for life, when we engage with each other meaningfully.
With the magazine we aim to increase mutual respect and increase understanding of cultural and social diversity. We do this by:
- Offering an online platform for children to debate, exchange experiences, opinions, dreams and ideas from all over the world;
- Providing young readers the experience that being different is actually exciting and fun and a lot can be learnt from each other;
- Giving young readers to opportunity to be responsible for the content of the magazine and to take part in its actual production.
