Connect Partners

The publication of this magazine for children is one of the activities of Hope Unlimited; a charitable trust aiming to provide support to young children in India in developing and realising their dreams and future goals, especially by ‘fostering awareness, understanding and respect between children, and celebrating diversity by connecting different cultures through the sharing of experiences and opinions of children through different activities on a non-profit basis. One such activity is the publication of CONNECT.

Collaboration with schools

Hope Unlimited aims to collaborate with government and private schools to develop content for the magazine by organising workshops aimed at increasing knowledge and skills about specific topics. In these workshops (facilitated by experts / relevant celebrities) the children will also put together content for the magazine. This way, both the school and the magazine benefit.

Anjali House

Hope Unlimited collaborates with Anjali House in Cambodia. Many contributions in CONNECT come from children in Cambodia supported by Anjali House.

Anjali House in Siem Reap in Cambodia believes that no child should be forced to beg or work, and that they have the right to enjoy their childhood – to learn, play, make friends, and grow in a safe and happy environment. Their ultimate goal is to see the students they support develop into healthy, well-adjusted adults, equipped with the skills they need to enter the workforce, continue their education, and succeed in their future endeavors.

Sakthi-Vidiyal

Hope Unlimited started collaborating in July 2020 with Sakthi-Vidiyal, a child rights NGO from Madurai in the state of Tamil Nadu, India.

Sakthi is a registered non-profit secular organization registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act 27 of 1975 (Old S.No.50 of 1993).  Vidiyal was founded in 1996 as a programme of Sakthi in the city of Madurai to provide safety and support to children in need of care and protection, especially street children, runaway children, abandoned children, working children, children from excluded communities and children experiencing difficult circumstances. Vidiyal was established to challenge discriminatory practices faced by children in the family, society and at school.  Today, we use Sakthi and Vidiyal inter-changeably or sometimes together as Sakthi –Vidiyal to ensure a clear understanding of the mutually symbiotic relationship.

Over the past two and a half decades Vidiyal’s rights based approach has changed the lives of street children and its dynamic engagement with marginalized communities has helped hundreds of children to break many barriers of social exclusion.
